Project Manager

Location: Houston, TX

Estimated Travel Requirement: 25%

Description: The goal of this position is to manage various technical projects in parallel, ensuring anticipated budget and timeline are achieved. Several of these projects will be R&D related, requiring a high degree of technical competency. Select supply chain activities are expected of this position as well, requiring competency and experience in negotiating.

  • Develop and manage project timelines of multiple projects which will be executed in parallel
  • Work in conjunction with Founders and Engineering to establish budgets for projects and manage those budgets
  • Develop method for tracking project timeline and budget with commonly used software
  • Manage the interface of project management software with existing CRM and other business process software systems
  • Regularly construct and present project status reports to management, and continuously re-assess project priority
  • Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing/Integration teams daily to achieve optimal prioritization of efforts of each project
  • Negotiate critical component and third-party service contracts and agreements with input/requirements received from Engineering and Manufacturing teams
  • Track delivery dates of critical components and regularly work with vendors/partners to optimize cost and delivery timelines
  • Perform some supply chain activities to identify multiple component sources and verify technical parameter compliance

This role requires constant interaction among multiple teams, both internal and external. Superior communication skills will be key to eliminate any confusion or ambiguity related to project goals. While ICE offers flexible work locations where sensible, this position will require a majority of in-office work.

Job Requirements include:

  • Track record of successfully managing projects and budgets
  • High proficiency in project management and budgeting software systems
  • Experience in managing R&D and technical projects required
  • Experience in supply chain activities and negotiating with third parties is preferred
  • Strong mechanical and electrical basics proficiency/understanding
  • Experience dealing with heavy equipment / manufacturing required
  • Engineering degree preferred but not required

Control Systems Programmer

Description: ICE Thermal Harvesting (ICE) is seeking a Control Systems Programmer. The goal for this position is to design and install controls that manage and automate the operation of ICE’s process equipment in conjunction with the Company’s engineering and commercial initiatives. To contribute to the company’s overall success, responsibilities will include:

  • Creating control narratives in conjunction with subject matter experts and P&IDs.
  • Developing and installing machine programs using automation software and custom coding languages.
  • Assisting in the design and selection of key components used in the control packages.
  • Testing automation systems for efficiency, safety, and reliability.
  • Overseeing the successful installation and commissioning of PLC programs.
  • Troubleshooting system errors.
  • Providing technical support to ICE technicians and clients.

Candidates must have a thorough understanding of industrial controls systems, process mechanical equipment (pumps, valves, etc.), automation systems, general industrial safety. This role requires both direct programming and hands on implementation.

Job Requirements include:

  • PLC technical certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in PLC programming / HMI programming
  • Experience in oil and gas industry and/or industrial heating and cooling applications preferred
  • Working knowledge of Electro/Mechanical system and components required
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting control systems
  • Preferred Experience working with
    • Siemens PLC software, Ignition SCADA software, Azure cloud networking

Description: ICE Thermal Harvesting (ICE) is seeking a Mechanical Designer. The goal for this position is to collaborate with ICE technical staff to design process equipment packages and technical drawings used within ICE’s heat-to-power business. To contribute to the company’s overall success, responsibilities will include:

  • Utilizing software to design equipment layouts, create 3D models, and generate fabrication drawings.
  • Collaborating with relevant stakeholders (engineering, project management, technicians) to create complete system designs with associated models and drawing packages.
  • Understand P&IDs and translate process design to equipment layouts.
  • Designing and maintaining an effective file management system for safe storage and easy access to design files.
  • Assisting in the design and selection of key components (pumps, meters, sensors, valves, etc.) used in equipment packages.
  • Providing support during the build process to ensure that the design specifications are met.
  • Incorporate red-lines and as-builts promptly and manage revision control.
  • Providing technical support to ICE technicians and clients.

Candidates must have a thorough understanding of industrial process mechanical equipment (pumps, valves, piping, etc.), fabrication techniques, and general industrial safety. This role requires both computer-based design and hands on implementation.

Job Requirements include:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in 3D CAD design
  • Familiarity with ASME, API and UL design standards
  • Ensure design components adhere to applicable industry standards
  • Ensure work is completed on or before scheduled milestones
  • Experience in oil and gas industry and/or industrial heating and cooling applications preferred
  • Preferred Experience working with Solidworks, Autocad, ProE
